Mesh Generator

After reading online I have come to realize I had programmed the world ineffectively. The blocks are fine while I got the basics down, Though I am going to have to create a mesh generator that will create the mesh based on the arrays I have stored. In retrospect, I feel like I should have seen that coming but I am still amused in what I got done in just an hour.

Given my other commitments I am hoping to get the mesh generator done by the weekend. Regardless it should be fun building it!

Fun with Voxels

I was working on some extra code this afternoon and wanted to work on creating a good system for voxel world. Those that have played games like minecraft would currently be at home with what I currently have created. While creating a procedural world is not by any means new this day in age, I wanted to get my hands dirty again with C# and unity.

While it was fun I did have some flaws into my first few hours into the subject.

The frames per second are a stunning 2-3 when I start pushing the block count up. Regardless though it was fun getting to this point, but I do feel like occlusion culling and mesh generation is going to be on my next to do list.

Work Work…

While I have been away from the website for awhile I always planned to come back to it. Currently my life has changed dramatically and should now be on a less time consuming trajectory. My current plans are to make regular updates based on my interest in addition to setting up video tuts when I have the time. I of course will be displaying my current projects on this website which will be my little corner of the net.
